Requirements and Application Notes
Diligence and Initiative
Diligence is the foundation of all work. After becoming a Master's student, you must strictly follow the "996" principle (arrive by 9 AM, leave after 9 PM, 6 days of effective work per week), and be at least as diligent as your supervisor until you are outstanding enough. Research requires 100% passion and 200% subjective initiative. Those who lack initiative, whose sole purpose is to obtain a diploma or delay employment, are not suitable for our team. Those who have no genuine interest in machine learning or wish to spend three comfortable years in graduate school are also not suitable.
Please Consider Carefully Before Contacting
Can you do small things well? As a duty student, can you clean the lab on time and conscientiously? If you cannot do small things, you may not do research well either. Everyone in the lab should be willing to contribute to the collective and enjoy the atmosphere it creates. Polish your work to 120% before sending it to your supervisor; do not submit half-finished drafts.
Are you willing to be "tortured" by your supervisor? Your paper figures have been returned 20 times, and you feel the supervisor is nitpicking. Under such circumstances, are you still willing to keep revising?
What is your purpose for pursuing graduate studies? We need your utmost effort, research ambition, the composure to sit on a cold bench for ten years, and the attitude of never giving up. I encourage Master's students to pursue a Ph.D. with me or abroad, Ph.D. students to become faculty members or pursue postdoctoral research at top overseas institutions, and all students to engage in R&D or technology-driven entrepreneurship. I will do my best to help. When funding permits, research stipends and conference travel support will be provided.
Are you genuinely interested in machine learning and computer vision? Research is full of setbacks and hardships; without strong interest, it will be painful for all of us. If you firmly believe you possess the excellent qualities required for research (childlike curiosity about the unknown and intense desire to solve challenging problems), our group will wholeheartedly help you achieve your goals.
Do you have sufficient time and energy? I expect students to engage in high-level research and publish only first-class results in venues listed in the CCF Recommended List, positioning themselves at the level of the world's top teams and doing work with genuine international impact, rather than pursuing the quantity of ordinary SCI or EI papers. For students who publish in CCF-listed venues, international conference travel will be funded when financial conditions permit.
Undergraduate Records and Capabilities
Excellent undergraduate grades (especially in mathematics) will have a positive impact. You should have a solid foundation in mathematics (linear algebra, matrix theory), good programming skills, and good English proficiency (able to read professional literature without much difficulty). Personality matters: we hope you are optimistic, cheerful, proactive, perseverant, clear-thinking, logical, and possess good communication skills.

The school organizes Master's admissions. After the list of proposed admissions is announced, a mutual selection between students and supervisors is arranged. Before the mutual selection, the school office provides all admission details and is the authoritative source of information. Many questions do not have standard answers from supervisors, such as: the number of admissions for each major, the cutoff scores, the application system, exam subjects, etc. You may contact me in advance. I only know how many admission quotas I have been assigned. For detailed admission information, please consult the school office.
